Flowery Branch's Season Ends in State Playoffs
The Lady Falcons Volleyball team finished up a great season with a loss to Riverwood 3-0 (25-12, 25-15, 25-18) in the Sweet 16 matchup on Tuesday night in Atlanta. The Falcons ended 21-19 for the season. Standout players were Senior outside hitter Nicole Reed and Junior middle blocker Kathryn McMillin. go Falcons!!
Flowery Branch Sweeps Richmond Hill!
The Lady Falcons won their first round matchup against Richmond Hill (25-9, 25-17, 25-13) on Saturday in Richmond Hill. With the win, Flowery Branch (21-18) advances to face AAA's seventh-ranked Riverwood (24-16) on Tuesday in Atlanta. Junior middle blocker Kathryn McMillin and Sophomore setter Kenzie Grewett set the pace for the win against Richmond Hill.
Lady Falcons Headed to Sectionals!
The Flowery Branch Lady Falcons defeated West Hall 2-1 (23-25, 25-23, 25-23) then lost to North Hall 1-2 (18-25, 25-18, 25-18) Saturday to finish 4th in the Region 7-AAA tournament. Falcon's coach Bryan Mavis said that Jacy Ramey, Freshman Libero, and Cori Hosch, Senior Defensive Specialist had the best performances of the day. The Lady Falcons will now travel to Richmond Hill to compete in the first round of State Sectionals.
Lady Falcons Win at West Hall
The Flowery Branch Lady Falcons finished up regular season play last night with wins over Chestatee (2-1) and West Hall (2-0) at West Hall High School. The Lady Falcons will enter Region Tournament play seeded 3rd Thursday night at Johnson High School and will continue their quest to return to Region Sectionals on Saturday at The Branch.
JV Falcons Finish Strong
The Flowery Branch JV Falcons finished up their season last night with victories over Chestatee and West Hall at West Hall High School. This brings the Lady Falcons to an overall 15-8 season. Great job Falcons!!
Falcons continue Win Streak at West Hall
The Flowery Branch Lady Falcons (9-7, 5-0) improved their Area 7-AAA record tonight with wins over West Hall and defending Area 7-AAA Champions, Creekview at West Hall High School. In the first match, the Falcons defeated the Lady Spartans 2-0 (25-12, 25-21) behind juniors Alexis Love and Katherine McMillin and sophomores McKenzie Grewett and Kirsten Nappi. Flowery Branch then outlasted Creekview 2-1 (25-20, 15-25, 27-25) behind senior outside hitter Sam Salyers and libero Dnaielle Miller. Sophomore Rebecca Nash added a run of 6 straight service points to put the Falcons back into set three and ultimately the win.
Flowery Branch travels to St. Pius X this Thursday to play against the Golden Lions and Oconee High School.
JV Falcons Play at West Hall
The JV Lady Falcons played two hard fought matches Tuesday night at West Hall High School. After winning the first match over West Hall, the JV Falcons fought hard in the second match against Creekview but lost in the third game.
Falcons Win at The Branch!!
The Flowery Branch Falcons Volleyball Team improved it's overall
record to 7-7 and it's Area record to 3-0 with the start of Area 7-AAA
play at the Branch tonight. The Falcons beat Lambert, a new school
in Forsyth County 2-0 (25-4, 25-15) lead by strong play from Senior
outside hitter Sam Salyers and equally strong back-court play from
Senior libero Danielle Miller. Flowery Branch won the second match
of the night against Gainesville 2-0 (25-13, 25-14) with strong
performances by Junior outside hitter Alexis Love and Junior middle
blocker Kathryn McMillin.The Lady Falcons finished up the night
with a win over East Hall 2-0 (25-21, 25-16) behind the tough serving
and setting of Sophomore setter McKenzie Grewett and the strong
hitting and blocking of the Senior right-side hitter Taylor Dickerson.
The Falcons continue Area play next Tuesday at West Hall where
they will take on the Lady Spartans and the Creekview Lady Grizzlies.
JV Falcons Win on the Road!
The JV Lady Falcons traveled to Jefferson Thursday night.
